Atelier is a San Francisco company, founded in 2022. We are a Pre-Seed company and a team of around twelve people, all working on one product.
Mission
Decide before you spend.
Redecorating a room is a guessing game. You look at mood boards of other people's houses, you try to imagine the look in yours, you spend money on pieces that looked different in the photo. The gap between the inspiration and the actual room is where most of it goes wrong.
Atelier closes that gap. Upload a photo of the room you actually have, choose a style, and see a render of your room in that look, keeping your walls, windows, and layout exactly where they are. The decision is about your space, made with your eyes, before anything arrives.
This is only possible because of what modern vision and image models can do. A mood board could exist without AI. What we build could not.
The founders
Two people who kept running into the same problem.
Elena Marsh
CEO and co-founder
Elena spent a decade leading product design at studios working on residential and commercial spaces, where she watched people spend money on rooms they could not quite picture. She started Atelier in 2022 to close that gap. She is based in San Francisco.
Theo Nakamura
CTO and co-founder
Theo worked on computer vision systems for several years before Atelier, focusing on high-fidelity image understanding and editing. He joined Elena after seeing the same problem from the model side: rooms are specific, and generic image generation cannot respect that specificity. He is based in San Francisco.

What we believe about the product.
Honest about the edges
A redesign is inspiration, not a construction plan. We say that plainly, everywhere, rather than letting the renders imply something they cannot deliver.
Your space, not a space
The whole point is that it is your room. The walls stay where they are. The layout is the one you live with. The render is a decision about your space, not a demonstration of ours.
Your data is yours
You upload a photo of your home. We hold that photo to render your redesigns and nothing else. Export and delete are real, immediate, and available to everyone at any time.
Small and focused
A team of twelve works on one thing: making a real room easier to see redesigned. We have no plans to expand into a general AI platform. The focus is the product.
